INDORE, PITHAMPUR: Minister of State for Heavy Industries And Public Enterprises Arun Yadav on Friday inaugurated the third edition of the JK Tyre Baja SAE India 2010 event at Pithampur near Indore.
Society of Automotive Engineers India (SAE INDIA) in association with National Automotive Testing and R And D Infrastructure Project (NATRIP) and Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) are organizing the event.
Addressing the inaugural function Yadav said, The third edition of JK tyre Baja SAE India 2010 has helped the State in achieving the desired recognition as an auto hub. The encouraging response by the student fraternity, auto industry and the organizers has definitely taken the event to a grand scale which is highly commendable.
The first day saw the participant's vehicles being judged on technical, design and emission parameters. These basic checks are primarily done to evaluate the vehicles and qualify them for further static and dynamic events to be held in the coming days. After the physical basic examination, the participating teams will be required to give presentations. Highly qualified professionals from the automobile sector will further evaluate the cost reports and vehicles on the spot.
Member of Parliament, Dhar, Gajendra Singh Rajukhedi was also present on the occasion. NATRIP CEO Rajesh Singh gave a welcome speech. SAE India president R. Dayal and JK Tyre and Industries Ltd marketing director A S. Mehta were also present on the occasion. SAE India secretary Dr. K. C. Vohra proposed a vote of thanks.
